  • The NUPRC (formerly DPR) permits in Nigeria come in three main categories:

    • Major Category: Tailored for companies providing advanced, specialized services like rehabilitation, equipment supply, and logistics. It’s meant for applicants with verifiable technical skills.


    • Specialized Category: Reserved for highly technical services such as offshore construction, drilling, and technical consultancy. This requires applicants to possess specific, verifiable technical expertise.


    Each category caters to different levels of technicality and specialization in services, ensuring businesses align with the right permit for their operations.

For obtaining an NUPRC (DPR) permit, the following documents are crucial:

  • Your company’s Certificate of Incorporation and other relevant documents from the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
  • A current Tax Clearance Certificate (TCC) for your company.
  • Proof of payment to the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF).
  • A detailed list of your company’s available equipment or facilities.
  • A medical retainership agreement with a hospital.
  • A comprehensive company profile.
  • A list of your staff members.
  • Relevant professional certificates, especially critical for Major and Specialized Categories.

For the General and Major Category, it takes about 3 working days but for Specialized Category it takes about a week.

There is no fixed fee for a Tax Clearance as it depends on the level of transactions and profits of a Company.

The timeline varies depending on the level of transactions of the Company but generally it takes an average of 3-5 weeks
